Neighbourhood Planning enables communities to take the lead in producing part of the statutory development plan for the area.  Crucially, a Neighbourhood Plan is a statutory document and must be used to determine planning applications in a neighbourhood area.

Heywood Parish Council has previously applied to Wiltshire Council for, and received designation of, the entire area of the Parish as a Neighbourhood Area, as a first step to producing a Neighbourhood Plan, and it is now intended to establish a Steering Group to draft the plan, composed of Parish Councillors, residents and business owners in the Area.  The Plan is a chance to shape and enhance the Parish in the future, improving opportunities and quality of life for Parishioners and creating a more prosperous local economy.

The Steering Group will meet on a regular basis during the preparation of the Plan and minutes of the meetings will be available to all.

If you are interested in helping to draft the Plan and have the time available to be a member of the Steering Group, please contact the Parish Clerk, Mrs Ann Bizeray, by email at heywoodpc@hotmail.co.uk , or use the form on our Contacts page.
